Pascaline

2017

Pascaline passed her first year as an English major, but the university was very late. She didn’t start her second year until January. So far, she seems to be doing well. (Solidarité)

2016

Pascaline (“the right one”) Zongo wants to study English at the University of Ouagadougou, but, guess what? The university is behind. She was scheduled to have started her first year at the end of February. She lives way across town with an uncle, has an old bicycle that will probably get her to university in an hour and shares a bedroom with two other women with neither bed nor mattress. (Days 4, 8, 20, and 24.)

One of Pascaline’s roommates has a bed; the other a mattress. Where Fred's pointing is where she will sleep on the floor.

We considered moving her to a private university, but were advised against it by Christiane, a member of our Board who manages our affairs in Ouagadougou. Meanwhile, Pascaline got her hands on a motorbike, is very happy living with her uncle and is patiently waiting to finish her first year of a three-year program.
