In 2011, Fred Eckhard established the Burkina Women's Education Fund (BWEF) in France where he had retired. That same year, he asked his son Jan to set up a parallel association in the United States so that US donors could receive a tax benefit. Jan set it up and called it Chance for Change. The money collected on both sides of the Atlantic goes to the same place, Burkina Faso, under the overall direction of Fred Eckhard in France.
As Fred was formerly with the United Nations, he had many contacts in Geneva, and so in 2018 he set up a third association, the Burkina Women's Education Fund (Geneva). All three associations are registered with their home governments so donors in all three countries can claim a tax benefit. You can donate in Swiss Francs (CHF), Euros or US Dollars.
